Howdy

For all my life I have loved snuggling under warm, heavy blankets. And lots of them. Like 2 or more. It didn't matter that it would be the middle of summer and +38', I still loved to be robed in warmth and comfort. Friends of mine had quilts that their Baba's had made for them. Fancy things that I would run my hands over and dream of sleeping under them. As I grew, I came in contact with different women who made these amazing quilts. Some would hand stitch them all and some would do machine stitching. My mother "outlaw" (my ex's Mom) was the first to REALLY make anything that I would call a quilt.

I remember my first "quilt" I was given, it was a navy blue top and white with blue matching flowers. Donna and her friends had topstitched the whole thing to the pattern that was on the under side. I loved it~I gave it to the ex for the kids to use when they slept at his house. Too many memories.

Then with Nate's mom, I was introduced to the quilts that I remember from my childhood. Rich delicate piecing; with hand stitching, appliqué, and binding back stitched on by hand. I was in love. But unsure if I could do such great things....
Well I was taught a few new techniques by Nathan's cousin Terri and felt my confidence grow.

Since then, I have made a number of quilts for friends and even ones for the girls. But really, one can only make so many quilts for ones self right??

So upon the gentle nudging (NOT!!) of a few friends, I have started to make my quilts for others. It isn't something small. Each quilt is special and can take about 2-3 weeks (for a baby size) to 4-6 weeks (for larger bed sized quilts). I treat each quilt as though I was giving it to one of my own dear ones, putting love into every stitch.
